Teach me to feel | Courtney Reissig
I don’t know about you but sometimes I feel like I am being held hostage by emotions. In my day-to-day life this looks like either being ruled by my feelings or feeling like I have no feelings at all.
I don’t know about you but sometimes I feel like I am being held hostage by emotions. In my day-to-day life this looks like either being ruled by my feelings or feeling like I have no feelings at all. If this is you, or you know someone like me, Teach me to feel is a very handy, easy to read, Christian resource to add to your library. Written after a time emotional stress, this book aims to help Christians to have a biblical understanding of our feelings and show us how they can lead to appreciating our Lord and Saviour more.
The book is designed so that once you have read the introductory chapters on Psalms 1 & 2, you can either read it cover to cover or dip in and out of the topics that meet the needs of the particular moment. Each chapter is a meditation and reflection on a psalm and a feeling within it. Other psalms that relate to that feeling are highlighted at the end of the chapter. In twenty-two short chapters you will explore feelings ranging from helplessness and weariness to contentment and gratefulness.
For those who like journaling each chapter also includes a page for reflection. It’s a beautiful hardback edition with a marker ribbon.
This book will hopefully prepare you with scriptural strength for the many seasons of the Christian life and be a helpful resource when experiencing a particular emotion.
