Singled Out (Pt9)
Is there anything else you would like to say/add?
One of the things that I think it is important to emphasize in a discussion of singleness and particularly in a discussion of celibacy is that celibate Christian singleness is not an impossibility, but it is also not easy. It is a spiritual discipline that brings us closer to God as we live out His purpose for our lives. While some Christian singles have been given a gift of celibacy in which they lack sexual desire and do not long for marriage, many still struggle with these longings and with the disappointment of not being able to fulfil them. In the midst of these frustrations, we need to recognize that God is still faithful and that He can use these disappointments to draw us to Him and to help us enact His love to others around us.
